Last week, DISH Satellite Network dropped Fox News from their lineup due to a battle with 21st Century Fox. Unfortunately, Fox then saw a significant drop in their ratings during the week of December 28, their first full week of absence from the DISH offerings.

Fox News averaged 939,000 prime-time viewers that week, a 12% drop from the same week in 2013 and about a 40% drop from the previous week’s 1.65 million viewer average.

While viewership typically drops during the holidays, the 12% decline from the same week last year is definitely alarming.

Despite the ratings drop, there was some good news for Fox. The network still scored more total viewership than both CNN and MSNBC for that week.
