A tree in South Africa is making waves all over the world because it looks as if it is bleeding.

The bloodwood tree gets it’s name because when you cut it down, the red sap flows out of the trunk like blood.

The tree appears in various African nations such as Angola, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zaire, Zimbabwe, and Zambia.

The tree’s sap is traditionally used as dye, and some African nations even believe it to contain magical powers.
