Tim Tebow made an announcement on Friday that highlights once again what a charitable, Christian man he is.
During an appearance on Fox & Friends, the football player announced that his Tim Tebow Foundation recently held it’s fifth annual “Night to Shine” prom event. These events are proms for special needs children, and they are held in 26 different states. To launch the event, Tebow’s foundation partners with 45 churches and over 15,000 volunteers.
The Tim Tebow Foundation’s mission statement is to bring “faith, hope and love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need,” and with this event, they do just that!
“We are trying to make a difference in their life,” Tebow said, according to Conservative Tribune. “We are trying to make them feel like they are the kings and queens because I know that’s how God sees them and that’s how we should see them.”
“I really believe when you’re blessed with a platform, you need to make other people feel special and that’s what we’re trying to do with this night,” he added.
Tim Tebow was also not afraid to cite his strong Christian faith as motivation for him to give back to those in need.
“So many times Christianity and the Bible can get so cluttered, but I try to keep it very simple: to love God and to love other people,” said Tebow. ”We want to care for the least of these, the people that a lot of people have forgotten.”
Bravo to Tim Tebow for using his celebrity status to spread the word of God, and help those less fortunate than himself.
