Obama just got the nuclear deal with Iran that he has always dreamed of, but even that Muslim nation is not singing his praises.
Less than 24 hours after the agreement was signed, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has accused the Obama administration of lying.
Zarif had previously said that the U.S. had agreed to let Iran continue to enrich uranium and also that all nuclear-related financial sanctions would be lifted as soon as the final deal was signed. Basically, it appears that the deal allows Iran to drop a nuclear bomb whenever they see fit with no consequences.
“The solutions are good for all as they stand,” Zarif stated on Twitter. “There is no need to spin using fact sheets.”
Even though Secretary of State John Kerry said that the sanctions would end in a series of drawn out phases, Zarif has claimed that this is a blatant lie.
“’U.S. will cease the application of ALL nuclear-related secondary economic and financial sanctions,” he said, quoting the agreement before asking, “Is this gradual?”
Yes, Iran does have a history of complaining about their agreements with the U.S., but this time it appears that they have a point. It looks like Iran got basically everything they wanted in the agreement, with Obama giving them everything he had to offer. They can continue to enrich uranium, continue to have nuclear facilities, continue to do research: they can basically do whatever they want when it comes to nuclear bombs.
The Iranians aren’t stupid, they see that Obama is deliberately spreading lies about the deal to keep Americans quiet. We applaud Zarif for refusing to remain silent and for calling Obama out. Take that, Mr. President!
