A beloved Fox News anchor in Minneapolis has made an announcement that could mean some big changes for her network.

Fox 9 anchor Kelcey Carlson has announced that she is expecting her third child.

“The due date is the end of May-June. You could call it an oops,” the mother of boys, 3 and 8, said as she laughed. “We just arrived here a year ago [from North Carolina]. New job and everything. I’m still dealing with a bit of a shock. I’ll be six months next week and I still think, ‘Oh, my gosh, am I really pregnant?’ I was telling my hairdresser about it. I feel like a teenager: ‘Is this really happening?’”

“With my other two kids, I actually went to work the day I went into labor. One kid came right around the due date and the second baby came almost two weeks early, so who knows when I’ll deliver,” Carlson added. “I’ve had a healthy pregnancy so far. I still run, jog. I was able to run with my boys until the very end of the pregnancies. I’ll run as long as it feels good and if it doesn’t, then I’ll quit and I’ll just swim or something.”

“I decided today that being pregnant is like being in a mascot’s outfit. You feel sort of goofy and everybody wants to touch your midsection,” she concluded.

While the Fox affiliate in Minneapolis is overjoyed for Carlson, it also puts them in the difficult position of having to find someone to cover for her while she is away on maternity leave. Carlson’s likely replacement is Amy Hockert, who Fox announced this week would be returning to Fox 9.

This news comes as Fox affiliates all over the country continue to be the most successful of all the major news networks. Studies show that more Americans trust Fox than they do any other news network.

We wish Kelcey Carlson all the best with her pregnancy!
