If you’re like us, you love saving money with cool life hacks instead of spending money at the grocery store.

Now you can make your very own sour cream right at home. This video is an easy, step-by-step guide for making Crème Fraiche. Crème Fraiche is almost identical to sour cream, but is tastier and more luxurious.

All you need is a mason jar, some heavy cream, and cultured buttermilk.

After putting the mason jar in boiling water to kill bacteria, fill the jar 3/4 with heavy cream. Next, add three tablespoons of cultured buttermilk to the jar. Then secure a coffee filter to the top of the jar with a rubber band. Allow the jar to sit for 24 hours.

After 24 hours has passed, take off the filter and put on an airtight lid. Then move the jar to the fridge and let it sit for another 24 hours.

The next day, when you take off the rubber band, you’ll have some amazing, home-made Crème Fraiche ready to eat! ENJOY!
