A few weeks ago, the nation was stunned when it was revealed that the eldest Duggar child from the hit reality show 19 Kids & Counting had molested his sisters.
Since the scandal broke, Josh Duggar, 27, his stayed completely silent in the media: until now. According to New York Daily News, Josh posted a video to youtube on Sunday to wish his father a Happy Father’s Day.
“Happy Father’s Day, pops,” Duggar’s pregnant wife Anna said at the start of the 1-minute clip.
“We’re so grateful for you. Happy Father’s Day,” Josh said, going on to recount special moments from his childhood.
“Then later on when we built a house together and we spent three and a half years learning about construction and all the joys and sorrows of all that,” he added.
“I know that your investment in each one of our lives is priceless and we’re so grateful for you and I’m grateful that you’re the grandpa … to your grandkids and we’re just so grateful for your investment in our life,” Josh concluded. “Happy Father’s Day.”
The clip was a somewhat awkward way for Josh to resurface, considering the fact that it has been confirmed that his father Jim Bob helped cover up the abuse.
Despite the fact that Josh admitted to molesting some of his sisters when he was a teenager, the Duggar family has stood by him.
“He made some bad choices, but really the extent of it was mild, inappropriate touching, on fully clothed victims, most of it while girls were sleeping,” Josh’s sister Jessa Seewald, who was one of his victims, said on Fox News’ “The Kelly File.” “We’ve never claimed to be a perfect family.”
