The fast food chain KFC is in hot water this week after a California man claimed he found a deep-fried rat inside his meal from the restaurant.
Devorise Dixon says he bit into the cooked rodent before noticing it’s odd shape.
“As I bit into a piece of it, I noticed that it was very hard/tough and rubbery,” Dixon wrote on his Facebook page. “I looked down at it and saw that it was in a shape of a rat with a tail.”
According to the New York Daily News, Dixon had ordered a three-piece chicken tender meal at a KFC restaurant in Los Angeles.
“It sent deep chills throughout my whole body! I’ve been feeling weird ever since,” he recounted.
KFC spokesman Rodrigo Coronel said that the restaurant chain has “no evidence to support this allegation.” He added that his company has made “various attempts” to contact Dixon, who is “refusing to talk to us directly or through an attorney.”
“Our chicken tenders often vary in size and shape,” Coronel said. “We have extended the opportunity to have an independent lab evaluate the product at our own expense, but the customer refuses to provide the product in question.”
