Earlier this week, the nation was stunned when it was revealed that Bill Cosby had confessed to drugging women years ago.
This has come as good news for the litany of women who accused Cosby of raping them. One of the women this news could help the most is Janice Dickinson, the legendary supermodel who shocked the world when she came forward with claims that Cosby raped her in the early 1980s.
Dickinson has filed a civil lawsuit against Cosby, and if she wins she stands to make $35 million. After Cosby’s confession broke, his insurance company AIG Property Casualty has filed their own lawsuit against the comedian demanding that the court rule that they are not liable for their client’s sexual misconduct if Dickinson wins damages.
If both the insurance company and Dickinson win their lawsuit, it would mean that Cosby would need to write a check to Dickinson for $35 million out of his own pocket.
“I was drugged and raped by Bill Cosby,” Dickinson told ET in an interview. “And the fact that he and his spokespeople have called me a liar – referring to remarks that I’ve made – it’s just not correct.”
Dickinson has also released a photo of Cosby that she says she took of him in the Lake Tahoe hotel room where he raped her in 1982.
“We’re asking for money damages to compensate her for the damage to her reputation and for the emotional distress, the very serious emotional distress that’s been very real for Janice that she’s been going through,” her attorney stated.
If she wins her case, Dickinson will be getting a whole lot of monetary compensation, probably from Bill Cosby himself!
