The Bush family needs our prayer this week after their patriarch, former president George H.W. Bush, broke a bone in his neck during a fall at the family home.
According to Daily Mail, the 91 year-old Bush was at the family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine when he fell on Wednesday night. His spokesman Jim McGrath said that the former president stayed in the hospital over night and is now wearing a neck brace, but also that his injuries were not life threatening and that he is now “fine.”
Bush is currently being treated at Portland’s Maine Medical Center, where a children’s hospital is named for his wife. Officials there said that though Bush’s condition is stable, it’s too early to ascertain when he will be released from the hospital.
Bush, who is the oldest living president, has suffered a series of health problems in the last few months. A few months ago, he announced that he is suffering from Parkinson’s Disease, and he has been using a motorized scooter to get around.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Bush family at this time, and we hope George H.W. Bush makes a swift recovery!
