Last week, we reported that Caitlyn Jenner may face criminal charges after video footage emerged of the fatal car crash she caused in February.
Now, it has been revealed that Jenner will indeed face charges, but they will only be misdemeanors.
According to Daily Mail, police have found that no drugs, alcohol, or talking or texting on a phone were to blame for the accident, which claimed the life of 69 year-old widow Kim Howe. Instead, they have determined that the cause was probably negligence, which is not a felony.
This would mean that the maximum charge Jenner can face would be misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, although sources say that cases like this are often dismissed altogether when they are presented to the DA. Police came to these conclusions after studying video footage of the crash that was released to the public last week.
The footage shows Jenner, who had not yet transitioned from Bruce to Caitlyn, crash into Howe’s white Lexus and another black car. Howe’s car is then pushed into oncoming traffic. Since the accident, Jenner has been hit with lawsuits from Howe’s family as well as the Hollywood agent who was driving the black car.
This news comes as a disappointment to many who were hoping that Jenner would face jail time for the fatal car crash. Do you think justice is being served here? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
