A clip is going viral this week of a Louisiana Sheriff’s Lieutenant issuing a blunt message to the thief of a local grocery store.
According to Fox Insider, St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Lt. Clay Higgins made the Crime Stopper’s video in the hopes of finding the thug who broke into Stelly’s Supermarket on July 8. If I were that thug, I would be VERY scared right now!
Higgins, an army veteran who is also a father of three, told the camera that the thief stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from the family business, which also happens to be a favorite eatery of the officer’s.
“Stelly’s has been a local favorite for decades,” Higgins says. “The family works hard and is known to be generous. The Stelly family represents southern hospitality at its best.”
What Higgins says next has caused the video to get millions of views in just a few days.
“If you’re the man that committed this felony, look at me son, I’m talking to you,” he says. “The sheriff likes Stelly’s restaurant, and so do I. The food here is good, and the folks are friendly. We’re going to identify you, arrest you and put you in a small cell. After that, I’m gonna have a cheeseburger here with fries and a Coke and leave a nice tip for the waitress.”
“Congratulations, son. I’m about to make you famous,” Higgins promised at the end of the video.
That thug better watch his back, because this cop is clearly one guy you do NOT want to mess with!
