Earlier today, we reported that Sheriff Joe Arpaio is in hot water after the feds raided his offices as part of a controversial investigation.
Unfazed by this, Arpaio has announced that he hopes to head into Mexico to solve our border security problem, and he wants Donald Trump to help him do it. In an interview this weekend, the sheriff said he hopes to “straighten out the illegal immigration and drug smuggling problem” by working with Mexican authorities and possibly stationing American troops on the Mexican side of the border.
“I want to go to Mexico City or somewhere in Mexico to talk to the officials,” the sheriff said, according to Conservative Tribune. “Now if Donald Trump wants to go with me, he can go with me. Because we both will talk about the economy, which is very critical.”
“So I’m not going to give in on this one … I’m not going to go as a tourist,” he continued. “I’m going as a top law-enforcement official if I go.”
Arpaio went on to say that he believes Trump will be able to use his economic skills to fix the border problems.
“If I was with him (Trump), you know what’s I’d say?” the sheriff asked rhetorically. “Hey, I’ll build two Trump towers in Mexico. Start hiring people there to get jobs so they don’t have to hop the fence and come into the United States. So I look at this as an economic problem, too. Not just a law enforcement, political problem.”
In addition, Arpaio suggested that we work with Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto “to send our military across the border to work with their military and their federal police together and stop the drugs and stop the illegal immigration before it reaches the border.”
“That’s how you solve these cases whether it’s drug[s] or anything else,” Arpaio added. “That would be my advice.”
Never one to back down to anyone, the sheriff got brutally honest when he was asked how he feels about opposition from violent drug cartels.
“I don’t worry about it,” the patriotic lawman said.
We think Arpaio and Trump would make an amazing team! What are your thoughts on this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
