Yesterday, detectives with the LAPD visited the home of rock legend Gene Simmons and executed a search warrant. The search was done as part of an investigation into child porn, but officials have made it clear that neither the KISS frontman nor his family are suspects.

According to Daily Mail, somebody downloaded illicit images of children using one of the Simmons family’s home computers. The 65 year-old singer was reportedly away on tour when the downloading happened, and he has since been told not to discuss the investigation.

“No one in the Simmons family is a suspect in this investigation,” an LAPD spokesman said. Lt. John Jenal added that the family has been “extremely cooperative.”

“Neither Mr. Simmons nor any member of his family is a Person Of Interest in the investigation and they are cooperating fully with the investigation,” a Simmons family spokesman said. “At this time, the police have requested that Mr. Simmons and his family not discuss the investigation publicly so as not to compromise it.”

Gene Simmons has been a central member of KISS since the 1970s, and he has been with his partner, former Playboy playmate Shannon Tweed, for almost 30 years. The couple has two children, Nick, 22, and Sophie, 19.

Simmons and Tweed finally married in 2011, and their Los Angeles home has been featured on their reality show, Gene Simmons Family Jewels.

We’re happy to hear that Simmons was not involved with child porn, and we’ll be praying for his family throughout this difficult time!
