Bristol Palin knows what it’s like to be targeted by the media for her conservative views, so when she saw Donald Trump being attacked for the same thing, she knew she had to say something.
Raised by her mother to always tell it like it is, Bristol wrote a blog post on Monday in which she slammed both the liberal and conservative media for the way they’ve dealt with Trump.
“It’s official,” she wrote, according to The Blaze. “I used to use this blog to point out how liberals use the ‘outrage industry’ to manipulate people and keep their power. Now Republicans are just as bad.”
In her post, Bristol targeted RedState editor Erick Erickson, who rescinded an invite for Trump to speak at a conservative gathering because he implied that Megyn Kelly came after him at the debate because she is menstruating. Bristol pointed out that Erickson himself has made some inappropriately sexual comments in the past.
“Want to learn some ‘lessons in sexual and political decency’ from Erickson?” she wrote.
“I don’t endorse everything Donald Trump says or does… Mainly because I actually have to work for a living and I don’t pay as much attention to politics as professional pundits,” she continued. “But I know that I hate the ‘politics of outrage’ that people engage in. Give me a break.”
Bristol also attacked Fox News in her bombshell blog post.
“We only have so many opportunities to hear from the fifty million candidates who are apparently running for President,” Bristol wrote. “And we get the Fox moderators asking questions that the New York Times applauds? Please. Let’s don’t use the Democratic ‘war on women’ talking points when we have ISIS to worry about.”
Finally, she pointed out that Fox had previously made extremely inappropriate comments about her mother, and nobody batted an eye.
“Back in 2010, Chris Wallace joked about having my Mom sit on his lap during an interview. In 2011, Roger Ailes said, ‘I hired Sarah Palin because she was hot and got ratings,'” she concluded. “Fox and Erickson need to get off their high horse on how outraged they are NOW about sexism and decency. Let’s focus on winning the election, not winning accolades from the New York Times.”
Bristol is getting a lot of heat for this no-nonsense blog post, but we think she hit the nail on the head with this!
