Despite the fact that Fox News is the undisputed top cable news network, new reports suggest that the channel may indeed be coming to an end.
Even though Fox News consistently annihilates their competition in the ratings, Joseph Farah, editor-in-chief of the conservative website WND, announced this week that they may be in big trouble. Farah references the fact that the Fox News that we know and love today was built and cultivated by two people: Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes.
Last week, Murdoch announced that he will be stepping down from his position as head of Fox News’ parent company, 21st Century Fox. As he transitions out, he has said that Fox executives will be reporting to his two sons.
Ailes, however, has announced that he will still be reporting to Murdoch.
According to Conservative Tribune, it is a known fact that Ailes and Murdoch’s boys hate each other. Ailes publicly called one son, James, a “f***ing dope” and fired the other one, Lachlan. This means that Ailes will likely be leaving Fox as soon as his contract is up, and the Murdoch boys take control.
With Fox in the hands of the Murdoch boys, there are reportedly big changes coming it’s way.
“They are embarrassed by it,” Farah wrote. “Raised with silver spoons in their mouths, it’s not about the money. It’s about politics and social acceptance. They care more about being invited to the right cocktail parties in New York than they do about the ratings and financial success of Fox News.”
Farah said that signs of the doom of Fox are already appearing, including programming changes and the departure of major on-air personalities.
“You can’t buck the cultural tide without strong direction from the top,” Farah warned. “The inertia from down below is just too strong. It has everything to do with political correctness among the cultural elite.”
If Fox goes off the air forever, we will lose one of the only media enterprises that isn’t controlled by the liberal elite. We can only pray that this does not happen…
