A Kentucky man was sitting at home when he suddenly heard a banging noise coming from a nearby dumpster. When he went outside to take a look, he saw a teenage boy casually walking away from the scene.

Nothing could have prepared the man for what he found inside the dumpster…

According to Mad World News, a witness in Paducah saw a black boy in his mid-to-late teens drop an item into the dumpster and run away last Thursday. When the man looked inside the dumpster, he was stunned to find a newborn baby crying inside it.

Luckily, the newborn was still alive, and witnesses immediately called the police. McCracken County Sheriff’s Sgt. David Shepherd rushed to the scene and administered first aid, but he admitted that he wasn’t prepared for what he saw.

“No matter any law enforcement training you provide for us, articulate or tactical or anything like that; and then you place a newborn baby in front of us,” Shepherd said. “There’s not normal training for that, and it’s all hands on deck for that one.”

“The medical personnel did actually have to get inside of the dumpster as well to care for the child,” Shepherd added.

The infant was taken to the hospital, where it remains in stable condition.

It didn’t take long for police to find their suspect, who has been identified as a 17 year-old male. The suspect is the boyfriend of the baby’s 15 year-old mother, and he has been arrested for dumping the child in the trash.

The juvenile teen has been charged with attempted murder, criminal abuse in the first degree, and tampering with physical evidence. Police are still investigating the baby’s mother, but she has not been charged with anything yet.
