Over the last few months, President Obama has shown a complete lack of regard or respect for American police officers.
A few months ago, Obama made headlines when he blamed the U.S. police for the violent race-riots spreading across the country, rather than the protesters themselves. Since he said this, there has been a sharp spike in cop killings, as thugs all over America now feel it’s ok to kill police officers.
Now, yet another American police officer has been critically injured, and he’s now fighting for his life as his family calls for prayers for his recovery.
Louisiana State Trooper Steven Vincent, 43, was shot in the head with a shotgun during a routine traffic stop near Bell City. Vincent, who has been with the force for 13 years, was airlifted to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
According to KPIC TV, Vincent is a veteran who is married with a 9 year-old son. His two brothers are also in law enforcement, and one of them is the Chief of Police in Iowa.
Police say Vincent was responding to a call of a vehicle driving erratically at 2:45 p.m. Sunday. When he arrived on the scene, a Dodge pickup truck being driven by Kevin Daigle, 54, was in a ditch on a street corner. Video footage shows Vincent try to convince Daigle to exit his vehicle so that he could get it out of the ditch.
“I watched as that truck door came open and I saw a shotgun blast,” Col. Mike Edmonson said during a press conference. “This guy was carrying a sawed-off shotgun. Let me tell you something, that shotgun wasn’t to do anything else but hurt somebody, kill somebody.”
After he was shot, Vincent tried to get back to his vehicle to call for help. Daigle followed him, asking the trooper if he was still alive.
“You’re lucky, you’re lucky, you’re going to die soon,” Daigle reportedly told Vincent.
Daigle has since been arrested and charged with first-degree attempted murder of a police officer. Edmonson has since posted the following message on Facebook calling for prayers for Vincent.

Please take a moment from your Sunday afternoon to send prayers and well wishes to the Trooper and his family in this critical time.
