A woman in Mexico City who suffered a stroke while she was being treated for double lung failure claims she has been given a new sense of hope after she saw Jesus Christ on one of her brain scans.
According to Daily Mail, Jennifer Lougee Mingramm was being treated for a rare lung illness when she suffered the devastating stroke. Her husband, Tamaha MacDonald, said they were looking through one of her brain scans when they saw Jesus Christ staring back at them.
“We were both convinced we could see a face,” he said. “The image represents a miracle.”
Doctors say Mingramm and her husband are suffering from pareidolia, where people spot the image of Jesus in ordinary places like in food or objects. However, this image has given Mingramm and her family new hope after receiving seemingly unending bad news from medical professionals.
Mingramm was told by doctors that she was suffering from alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency, which can cause emphysema, cirrhosis of the liver and heart damage. She was given just a 20% chance of survival after her stroke in 2013. The only cure for her condition is a double lung transplant, and she is currently on an oxygen machine 24/7.
Encouraged by the image of Jesus, Mingramm and her husband have travelled to the United States in search of further treatment. We wish them the best of luck, and we’ll be praying for them!
