It’s been a whirlwind month for country music star Blake Shelton.
Just before the CMAs two weeks ago, it was confirmed that newly-divorced Blake Shelton is dating his fellow The Voice judge Gwen Stefani. This obviously came as a major blow to Shelton’s ex-wife Miranda Lambert, who struggled emotionally to make it through her powerful song “Bathroom Sink” during the awards show.
However, all the drama surrounding his personal life has not stopped Shelton from helping out those in need. According to The Huffington Post, Shelton is being hailed as a hero after he rescued four men stuck in the mud on a river in Ardmore, Oklahoma on Friday. Bryar Blanton, one of the men, shared his story with Entertainment Tonight.
“Me and my buddies [Lenyell Blanton, Josh Turner and Adrian Poplinwere] were checking out the river, when some of my buddies slid into a big mudhole and got stuck for about two hours,” Blanton recounted. “Me and Adrian started walking down the road and Blake and his dog, Betty, stopped and picked us up in his truck.”
When Shelton had trouble getting the men out, Blanton said the country star left to get his tractor and came back. The next day, Blanton thanked Shelton on Twitter by saying, “just wanna thank you for helping us yesterday man.” Shelton quickly responded, “No problem.. Now you boys stay outta jail!!! Ha!!!”
This just goes to show how down to Earth Blake Shelton is. Never change, Blake!
