Dolly Parton performed on The Voice on Tuesday night, and what she did left fans everywhere stunned.
According to Q Political, Dolly walked onstage with just her guitar to sing “Just a sweet little song [that] means more to me than the others.” She then performed a touching version of her hit 1971 song “Coat of Many Colors,” which was turned into an NBC television movie that airs tonight.
Rolling Stone reported:
The tune was written about a handmade coat Parton’s mother Avie Lee sewed together for her when she was a young girl. Dolly was one of 12 children from a poor family raised in the backwoods of east Tennessee’s Smoky Mountains, Parton is now one of the world’s wealthiest, most recognizable women but remains humble when it comes to sharing her gift of song.
Her performance really did leave me in tears!
