When Angie noticed a small lump behind her ear, she went to the doctor to have it checked out. The doctor told her it was no big deal and that it was just her lymph nodes, so she went home.
Seven years later, however, the tumor on her face had gotten so enormous that Angie couldn’t even cover it with her hair. Angie lamented that the tumor has made it impossible for her to live a normal life.
“I don’t walk when the wind blows,” she admitted, according to American Overlook. “I don’t like going out in public.”
Finally, a doctor was able to identify what the tumor was, but he didn’t know what to do about it. Desperate, Angie reached out to the daytime television show The Doctors begging for help. The show put her in touch with the Osborne Head & Neck Institute in Los Angeles, and there they prepared her for surgery to remove the large facial parotid gland tumor.
“Our job, working together, is to get the tumor out,” said Dr. Jason Hamilton, adding that the risk of removing the tumor is complete and total facial paralysis.
Doctors then showed Angie before and after pictures following her surgery. She was stunned by the results!
