A new NBC News/WSJ poll shows that Donald Trump continues to dominate the Republican presidential contest. The real estate mogul is still in first place with 33 percent. First term Senator Ted Cruz is lagging far behind with 20 percent.
Trump’s lead over Cruz is now double over what it was a month ago. Better news for Trump is that Republicans are warming up to the idea of him being the nominee. In March, only 23 percent of Republicans said they would support Trump if he is the nominee. That number has increased substantially and now is at 65 percent.
Even if Trump isn’t their first choice, more Republicans are keen on supporting Trump in the general election.
Last night’s debate was a bit of a battle between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz. Many pundits are claiming Trump won that round as Cruz’s attack on New York values fell flat.
Who do you want to be the Republican nominee?
