The GOP establishment is working overtime this week to try and stop frontrunner Donald Trump, and big names like former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney are calling on John Kasich to drop out of the race to make this easier for them.
Now, Kasich has finally admitted that after Super Tuesday, there will only be two candidates left, which is his way of confessing that his campaign is hours away from shutting down.
According to The Political Insider, Kasich has revealed he is focusing on March 15, a day when his campaign argues that the GOP field will be narrowed to just two contenders. On that day, Kasich is hoping to win the primary in his home state of Ohio, and for Marco Rubio to lose in his own home state of Florida.
“It’s on the 15th of March when this race narrows down, when Marco Rubio loses Florida and we win Ohio,” Kasich’s chief strategist, John Weaver, told ABC News, adding that he believes his candidate can then beat Trump in a two person race.
Unfortunately for Kasich, however, it doesn’t look like his dream will come true. We predict that he will be out of the race by the end of the week.
