When CBS’s Scott Pelly sat down with Hillary Clinton this week, he surprised her by asking her a question about honesty, which is a type of question she typically likes to avoid. Her answer has conservatives everywhere feeling sick to their stomachs.

“You know in ’76 Jimmy Carter famously said, ‘I will not lie to you,'” Pelly said, according to Mad World News.

Hillary then interrupted him, saying, “Well, I have to tell you, I have tried in every way I know how, literally from my years as a young lawyer all the way through my time as secretary of state to level with the American people.”

“Well, I have to tell you, I have tried in every way I know how, literally from my years as a young lawyer all the way through my time as secretary of state to level with the American people?” Pelly asked.

“I’ve always tried to, always, always,” Hillary replied, effectively saying “no.”

“Some people are going to call that wiggle room that you just gave yourself, always, always tried to,” Pelly continued. “I mean Jimmy Carter said I will never lie to you.”

Clearly backed into a corner, Hillary got defensive.

“No, I’ve always tried,” Hillary said, acting like an insolent child. “You know you’re asking me to say ‘have I ever,’ I don’t believe I ever have. I don’t believe I ever have, I don’t believe I ever will. I’m going to do the best I can to level with the American people.”

It’s insulting to all of us that Hillary Clinton expects us to believe she has never lied to us. SHARE this story if you think Hillary is a shameless liar!
