Earlier this week, we reported that Barack Obama had announced that he will not be attending the funeral of legendary Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia on Saturday. Instead of making the time to attend the funeral, Obama and his wife paid their respects to Scalia as his body lay in repose at the Supreme Court.

According to Daily Mail, the general public was cleared from the room when the Obamas arrived, and the couple then bowed their heads for a quick 30 second moment of silence.

The first couple made it abundantly clear that they had no intention of sticking around, and they left the Supreme Court as soon as they could.

The fact that Scalia’s political beliefs did not align with Obama’s shouldn’t mean anything in this situation. Justice Scalia was a good man who was on our Supreme Court for decades, and he deserves the respect of having the President of the United States at his funeral. It’s sickening that Obama continues to disrespect Scalia after his death every chance he gets.
