The latest trend in Hollywood for a gorgeous smile is oil pulling. Swishing coconut oil around your mouth can help brighten your smile and reduce bacteria.

Chicago dentist Jessica T. Emery recommends oil pulling but tells patients it isn’t a substitute for toothpaste. Coconut oil can add to your oral care routine. The oil acts as a magnet and draws bacteria out of your mouth, whitening your teeth and improving your breath.

For optimal results, swish the coconut oil around your mouth for about 20 minutes. The oil will turn milky white when bacteria has been pulled off your teeth and gums. When that happens, just spit out the oil and rinse.

Oil pulling was discussed on the Doctors, and as you can see, after just a short amount of swishing time, whiter teeth emerged.

Is this something you will try? How do you keep your teeth white?
