It’s hard to find things that Republicans and Democrats agree on these days. Everything is hyper-partisan. But, the House of Representatives just unanimously passed a resolution that will make you cheer.

They acknowledged that genocide is being waged against Christians and religious minorities in the Middle East. Speaker Paul Ryan had some powerful words that hopefully will be noticed by the White House.

“What is happening in Iraq and Syria is a deliberate, systematic targeting of religious and ethnic minorities,” Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) said in a statement. “Today, the House unanimously voted to call ISIS’s atrocities what they are: a genocide. We also will continue to offer our prayers for the persecuted.”

Now, let’s hope this acknowledgement for the slaughter of Christians is followed up with some action. Words are great, but they won’t save people from ISIS.

How do you think President Obama will react to this resolution? Please share your thoughts.
