An earthquake expert is predicting very scary news for California.
Thomas Jordan, director of the Southern California Earthquake Center has a serious warning.
“The springs on the San Andreas system have been wound very, very tight. And the southern San Andreas fault, in particular, looks like it’s locked, loaded and ready to go.”
The last big earthquake from the San Andreas fault was in 1857. That registered at 7.9 and ruptured 185 miles near Los Angeles. It was so powerful that the soil liquefied in some areas.
LA Times laid out the concern:
Here’s the problem: Scientists have observed that based on the movement of tectonic plates, with the Pacific plate moving northwest of the North American plate, earthquakes should be relieving about 16 feet of accumulated plate movement every 100 years. Yet the San Andreas has not relieved stress that has been building up for more than a century.
As you can see in the video below, a magnitude 8 earthquake would have devastating consequences on Southern California, including Los Angeles.
So, while liberals have their priority focused on letting men go in the women’s restrooms, there may be some serious problems looming for the left coast. Last year’s “San Andreas” movie starring The Rock might have foreshadowed this serious concern. See a clip below.
Please share this to warn people about this scientist’s prediction.
