It wasn’t climate changed that killed a US soldier in Iraq. It was the Islamic State.
Is President Obama paying attention? The battles are heating up as ISIS continues to grow.
This is not the time to sit around thinking about the weather or changing the national symbol. Tuesday’s was the third U.S. combat death in Iraq in the past seven months.
There are few details so far. From The NY Times:
The death occurred around 9:30 a.m., when enemy forces north of Mosul penetrated the front lines of the Kurdish pesh merga militias, which are fighting alongside the coalition against the Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL. The service member, who was conducting “advise and assist” duties in support of the pesh merga, was not identified. He was about two miles to three miles behind the front lines when he was killed.
Very few details are known, here is a video report:
Here is something really critical. Look what Defense Secretary Ash Carter says:
“This sad news is a reminder of the dangers our men and women in uniform face every day in the ongoing fight to destroy ISIL and end the threat the group poses to the United States and the rest of the world.
It’s encouraging and outrageous he says this because he understands the threat. Meanwhile, his boss, our President thinks ISIS is not a threat outside of their little enclave in Iraq.
Share this to remember our soldiers are still in danger and that ISIS is a major threat, despite President Obama focusing more on the weather.
