Tornado warnings and now reported tornadoes have shut down Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston. The Houston Independent School District has also ordered all students to seek shelter.

Reports of tornadoes touching down have been coming in from all over southeast Texas this morning.

KPRC Channel 2 reporter Sophia Beausoleil has already reported that homes have been damaged.

Many fences have been destroyed and in some cases entire garages have been leveled.

Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office even closed down access to a neighborhood after severe damage took out a 2 story garage:

Reports of tornadoes have also come in from Greatwood in First Colony in Fourt Bend County. Residents in Stafford and Missouri City are also reporting damaged buildings from tornado.

One business in Stafford suffered significant damage:

The UT Health reported that a funnel cloud was seen near the Texas Medical Center and emergency managers spotted a tornado in the area of the Houston Ship Channel and Cloverleaf. However, no reports of damage have come in from that area yet.

Over 21,000 people lost power in the Houston metro area during the early morning storm.

The National Weather Service is sending teams to survey the damage and they are warning that parts of the Gulf Coast and Southeast could see these dangerous storms hit them through Wednesday.
