A bank robber in Rockford, Illinois, thought it was going to be an easy job when he entered the Alpine Bank; however, he quickly found out that wasn’t the case at all.
The would-be bank robber, Laurence Turner, stormed the Alpine Bank branch, firing one shot into the air before setting his sights on security guard Brian Harrison.
However, Harrison quickly reacted and eliminated the threat.
Chief of Police for the Rockford Police Department praised Harrison saying he was able to “eliminate and take care of the threat.”
Winnebago Co. State’s Attorney Joe Bruscato also praised Harrison, “There is no doubt in my mind the actions of Brian Harrison saved the lives of those that were employees in the Alpine Bank location on that date and saved his own life.”
Harrison shot Turner twice and killed him at the scene. Police later discovered he was on drugs at the time of the shooting.
