Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey found himself the target of angry liberals this week when he was named as the co-founder of a ranch that offers “canned hunting trips.”
After this story broke, it didn’t take long for liberals to sharpen their pitchforks and take action. They launched a petition against the Hollywood star, and it quickly garnered over 3, 500 signatures.
The petition itself directly attacked McConaughey with it’s strong wording:
“The ranch’s website provides numerous pictures of how the whitetail deer is hunted for fun, even by children….
We strongly feel that this is not the message that such a good actor should be sending to his fans and the entire world, in general.
“Is this the image someone would like to be associated with? A beautiful white deer taken down by a bunch of children?”
Luckily, these liberals were exposed as the idiots they are Wednesday when a representative for McConaughey took the wind out of their sales.
“Matthew McConaughey has no ownership in this ranch. Get your facts straight,” the spokesman said, according to Daily Mail.
The true owner of the LP Ranch is Matthew’s brother Mike and his nephew Madison. Matthew had been a co-owner of the ranch until 2011, when he sold his share. The ranch’s main business is breeding horses and cattle, but their hunting trips have become a popular sideline.
Madison McConaughey says he and his family have received death threats from people who don’t understand what the ranch really does.
“People are disgusted with us but we’re disgusted with them,” he said. “We’re proud of what we do.”
