Taya Kyle has made a major announcement this week that would surely make her late husband Chris very proud. The American sniper widow has announced that she will be writing a memoir that focuses on the request she made of her husband to leave the military.

“I asked Chris to leave the military and he made the decision to get out and be with our family, and looking back now I don’t think I ever realized how painful of a decision that was for him,” Mrs. Kyle said in a 2013 interview that was just rereleased by her publisher. “He saw himself as a guardian angel. He didn’t care about the number of kills. He cared about the number of lives he saved.”

According to the Washington Times, her new book will be called American Wife: A Memoir of Love, War, Faith and Renewal, and it will go into detail about Taya’s experiences being a military wife. She is due to discuss her upcoming book in an interview with Good Morning America on May 1.

The movie American Sniper has been breaking box office records all over the world, and has been named the highest grossing film of 2014. Just a few weeks ago, Chris Kyle’s killer Eddie Ray Routh was convicted of his murder and sentenced to life in prison.

We can’t wait to read Taya’s book, and we’re excited to see what she has to say!
