Actress Raven-Symoné recently put her career in jeopardy when she spoke out to defend the television host who was recently fired for comparing Michelle Obama to an ape.

As we reported last week, Univision host Rodner Figueroa was fired after saying the first lady looked like a cast member of the film Planet of the Apes. While many saw this as racist, Symoné disagreed.

“I don’t think he was saying it racist,” Symoné said while guest-hosting The View. “Not Michelle Obama. Michelle, don’t fire me from this right now, but some people do look like animals.”

“Is that rude? I look like a bird… so can I be mad at somebody that calls me Toucan Sam?” Symoné added, according to MSNBC.

Symoné’s liberal cohosts immediately jumped down her throat of course, but the young actress refused to back down. We applaud her for being clear-headed enough to ignore the liberal mob that has taken Figueroa down, and being able to judge the situation for what it was.
