On Wednesday, American Sniper director Clint Eastwood appeared at Cinemacon’s “The Legend of Cinema Luncheon: A Salute to Clint Eastwood” at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. There, he was asked about his legendary feud with filmmaker Michael Moore, and what he said is epic.
“Everybody’s saying I threatened to kill Michael Moore,” Eastwood, 84, said, according to The Blaze. “That’s not true.”
After a pause, Eastwood added, “It isn’t a bad idea.”
This comment drew loud laughs and applause from the audience at the event.
Michael Moore has previously claimed that Eastwood threatened to kill him if he ever “came to his house” with a camera to interview him. Moore was also and outspoken critic of the film American Sniper, and seemingly tries to take down Eastwood any chance he gets.
Luckily, Moore’s efforts don’t seem to be working, as Eastwood is arguably more beloved and successful now than ever before.
