Sadie Robertson has just announced that she will be the headline speaker at the Christian music festival SoulStock 2015 in May.
Unlike most music festivals that revolve around drugs and alcohol, SoulStock is all about worship and giving thanks to God. The 17 year-old Duck Dynasty star will be giving a speech on Saturday, May 16 at 6 p.m., just before performances by the Christian bands Unspoken and for King & Country.
It’s typical of Sadie to use her celebrity to spread the word of God. One cannot help but compare her to another famous teenager who is known by millions. Back in August, 16 year-old Malia Obama was spotted at Lollapalooza, which is also a music festival. That, however, is where it’s similarities with SoulStock ends.
Lollapallooza is a drug-fueled music festival in Chicago that sends countless teens to the hospital every year with drug and alcohol related injuries. No parent in their right mind would ever let their underage child attend this event, and yet that’s exactly what Barack and Michelle did last year. Photos show Malia partying at the event with her friends without a parent in sight.
While at the festival, Malia was involved in a physical altercation with a fellow attendee. Being involved in a physical brawl at a drug-fueled concert isn’t exactly the kind of headline we want our underage first daughter to be associated with…
While Malia’s decisions aren’t great, we can only blame her parents for giving her free reign of the country and for raising her so poorly. Since she turned 16, Malia has been spotted wandering around the country by herself, partying in Los Angeles and Chicago without parental supervision. Unlike Willie and Korie Robertson, who took a hands-on role in raising their daughter to believe in God, Michelle and Barack have clearly neglected Malia and don’t give a hoot where she is or what she’s doing.
This just shows how important it is to be a part of your children’s lives and teach them to love and respect Christ. Sadie now shows how well her parents raised her by using her celebrity to spread the word of God. In contrast, Malia uses her national fame to get herself into parties and events that she is far too young to attend.
In both of these instances, it’s a case of like father like daughter…
