Residents of Slidell, Louisiana heard a strange noise coming from their storm drain, so they called their local fire department. Firefighter Cody Knecht arrived on the scene, and when he jumped into the drain he immediately realized the noise was coming from a group of baby ducklings.

Ducklings are extremely reliant on their mother, so if they become trapped in a storm drain alone, they won’t survive long. Unfortunately, the firefighters could not get the ducklings to come out of the train since they were too scared, so Knecht came up with a plan.

Using his cell phone’s duck ringtone, the ducklings moved towards the sounds, right into the outstretched arms of the firefighters.

We’re glad the ducklings made it out safely!
