For weeks now, we have been reporting on Operation Jade Helm, a military training exercise that is set to take place in Texas this summer.

The training exercise will involve troops “wearing civilian clothes and driving civilian vehicles” to blend in with “civilian populations.” The operation lists Utah and Texas as “hostile territory,” likely because these are two of the most conservative states in the country.

Many have connected the operation to the mysterious Walmart closings, and have also said that it is a dry run for martial law.

Now, the Pentagon has released a disturbing video showing members of the military performing Jade Helm exercises in front of children. According to Conservative Tribune, the video was released “so that the public will see it and accept what’s coming.” Though the government’s goal was to “allay fears and minimize concerns,” the video has actually made things worse, with horrified critics calling it “shocking.”

“It’s pretty hard to miss the children behind the same fencing as the mock demonstrators,” wrote a contributor at The Next News Network. “These are the U.S. Marines from 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division practicing ‘assault support tactics’ in Yuma, Arizona, as part of a seven-week exercise prior to the Jade Helm 15 exercises.”

Conspiracy theories have run rampant since the video, with one viewer claiming that children were included to show that “even our children will not be immune to the effects of what they are preparing for.”

Another theorist said the video shows soldiers “clearly training for martial law scenarios where they have to detain the American people right here in the U.S. in our own backyards.”

The military has tried to ease concerns about Jade Helm by arguing that “inaccurate information is being circulated by people with ‘personal agendas.’”

Many Americans, however, are unconvinced. A recent poll shows that almost half of Americans believe that Obama intends to “use U.S. military training operations to impose greater control over some states.”
