Americans have been steadily losing trust in Obama recently, especially since his sketchy deal with Iran.

One of the worst part of the deal was the lifting of various economic sanctions, including the immediate unfreezing of billions of dollars upfront. Because Iran is a major sponsor of radical Islamic terrorism, many Americans were particularly uneasy about this aspect of the deal.

When Treasury Secretary Jack Lew tried to reassure Americans, he actually made thing worse when he promised that “most” of this money wouldn’t go towards supporting terrorism. Lew insisted that the Obama administration had these same concerns, and that they would make sure that the sanctions regarding the funding of terrorism were kept in place.

“But it’s important to note that the connection between nuclear sanctions relief and Iran’s other malign activities is complicated, and most of the money Iran receives from sanctions relief will not be used to support those activities,” Lew said, according to Conservative Tribune.

However, this statement actually isn’t comforting at all. If “most” of the money isn’t going towards helping terrorism, then that means “some” of it will, so we are effectively funding terrorism. If this isn’t treason, I don’t know what is.

Many Americans are livid, since common sense says that “when you give bad people bad money, they use it for bad things,” as stated by Mark Dubowitz, executive director of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.

We can only hope and pray that what Obama just did will not prove to come back to haunt us in a deadly way.
