A New Jersey family has been forced to leave their new $1.3 million home after receiving a series of threatening letters from a stalker.

Maria and Derek Broaddus, who recently moved into the home with their three children, began receiving the terrifying letters just after they closed the deal on the house last month. The letters come from a mysterious stalker who calls himself “The Watcher,” who claims to have watched the home for decades.

According to Daily Mail, the Broaddus family is now suing the prior owners of the home for failing to mention anything about “The Watcher” to them. One of the letters was released during the ongoing court case:

“[The house] has been the subject of my family for decades. I have be [sic] put in charge of watching and waiting for its second coming. My grandfather watched in the 1920s and my father watched it in the 1960s. It is now my time.

Do you need to fill the house with the young blood I requested? Have you found all the secrets it holds. Will the young bloods play in the basement. Who has the bedrooms facing the street? I will know as soon as you move in.

Have they found out what’s in the walls yet? I am pleased to know your names now, and the name of the young blood you have brought to me.”

Another letter read in part, “Why are you here? I will find out.”
