Back in March, Greg Gutfield left the Fox News program Red Eye so that he could host his own Sunday night talk show. Since then, the network has stayed quiet about who they would be replacing him with: until now.

Fox has announced that comedian Tom Shillue will be taking over for for Gutfield as host of the late-night comedic talk show.

Since March, the competition for who would take over as head of the show has been fierce. The show’s regular panelists have been rotating in hosting positions ever since in the hopes of earning the top spot. Aside from Shillue, these panelists include Andy Levy,Jedediah Bila, Gavin McInnes and Sherrod Small.

While it looked as if McInnes and Shillue were the top contenders, it is the latter who earned the prize.

It was likely Shillue’s strong comedic background that got him the hosting position. A former Daily Show correspondent, Shillue also frequently opens for comedian Jim Gaffigan, and is one of four members of Jimmy Fallon’s barbershop quartet group called “Ragtime Gals.”
