Earlier this month, we reported that Michelle Obama was planning an exotic “girl’s vacation” to Europe with her daughters and her mother.

On Monday, Michelle left for her week-long trip to the U.K. and Italy along with her daughters, Sasha and Malia, and her mother, Marion Robinson. The women’s European escapades will be paid for by American taxpayers, who will likely be shelling out hundreds of thousands of dollars for this trip alone.

Michelle has pitched the vacation as a business trip, as she hopes to travel the world promoting education for women. In London, Michelle plans to meet with students from the Mulberry School for Girls to discuss the Let Girls Learn program.

“Having the first lady as a supporter and a driver on our efforts on girls education has already led to a raised awareness,” said Ben Rhodes, deputy national security advisor for strategic communications. “When Michelle Obama raises these issues, she gets attention.”

In London, Michelle will also be meeting with Prime Minister David Cameron and Prince Harry to discuss her various agendas. Then, she will go to the Milan Expo, where she will talk about her healthy food plans.

“Globally the presence of obesity has doubled since 1980,” said Tina Tchen, the first lady’s chief of staff. “The first lady knows that raising healthy families isn’t just a challenge in the U.S., but around the world.”

This is not the first time that Michelle has used her personal agendas as an excuse to travel the world on the taxpayer’s dime for “business.” Earlier this year, she travelled to Japan and Cambodia to promote these same agendas. Her two day trip to Cambodia cost Americans a whopping $242,500.

If that’s how much Michelle spends in two days, imagine how much she’ll spend on a week in Europe…

What do you think about Michelle’s outrageous spending? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
