Paula Deen is having another tough summer.
A few weeks ago, the cooking icon was accused of racism once again after she tweeted a photo of her son in brown face. Now, sources say that Deen and her husband of 11 years are preparing to divorce.
According to Daily Mail, the rumors started when 68 year-old Deen signed over the deed of her $1.3 million home in Savannah, Georgia to her husband, tugboat captain Michael Groover. There has been speculation that this is part of a private divorce settlement between Deen and her husband.
However, in the deed transfer, Deen’s representatives called it the “deed of gift,” and said it was “for and in consideration of her natural love and affection for her husband.” Deen and Groover have been living in the three bedroom home since they married in 2004, and a spokesman for the television star has strongly denied that the couple is divorcing.
“These rumors are completely false – they have a wonderful marriage. This deed of gift was just a part of Paula’s estate-planning process,” the spokesman said. “Her new cookbook, “Paula Deen Cuts the Fat,” comes out on September 8 and is dedicated to her husband, Michael.”
The couple was also recently seen slow-dancing in Tennessee, but this isn’t the first time they’ve been plagued with divorce rumors. Back in 2013, rumors swirled that Deen was about to leave Groover after she caught him having an affair with a “sexy, middle-aged brunette.” Groover denied the rumors, and the two stayed together.
