Since becoming a world famous football star, Tim Tebow has used his notoriety to promote the good Christian values that he holds dear.

During a recent appearance at Middle Tennessee State University, the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback issued a call to all Christians in which he urged them to live their lives publicly in order to bring about change in their communities.

“What’s amazing when you get up and do something is what God does in your life,” Tebow told the audience, according to Conservative Tribune. “We just have to get up and do something.”

Tebow went on to call himself a “Christian who happens to be an athlete,” and to say that God has meant everything to his success in life.

“When your identity is found in Christ, your identity never changes,” Tebow said. “You are always a child of God.”

“That’s why I always say I don’t have to live the roller coaster that the rest of the world lives in my life,” he continued.

Tebow appeared at the MTSU event with conservative author Dinesh D’Souza, who told the audience about his fears for our country.

“For the first time certainly in my lifetime and possibly in the history of this country, the American dream is imperiled. That’s what we’re fighting for,” D’Souza said. “It is only slipping away from us if we let it.”

Tebow has since received lots of flack from liberals for appearing at a Christian event with D’Souza. One commentator went so far as to say that Tebow, “has an event this weekend with hatemonger/fantasist/convict Dinesh D’Souza.”

We, however, applaud Tebow for continuing to brave the liberal backlash and for spreading his Christian values all over our great nation. What do you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
