Chinese archaeologists have made a heartbreaking discovery that has touched people all over the world.

According to Daily Mail, they found mother and child skeletons locked in a deadly embrace for over 4,000 years in what is known as “China’s Pompeii.”


The mother was clearly trying to protect her child after an earthquake Qinghai province in central China sometime around 2,000 B.C.

The earthquake is believed to have wiped out the entire settlement that the mother and child lived in, drawing comparisons to Italy’s Pompeii.
