Early yesterday morning, Jenna Bush Hager, daughter of former President George W. Bush, was rushed to the hospital. Hours later, at 9:12 a.m., Jenna gave birth to her second daughter, who she named Poppy Louise.
“Welcome to the WORLD Poppy Louise Hager – named after my darling Gamps who went by Poppy during his childhood,” Jenna captioned a photo of herself with her husband and new baby. “We are in LOVE.”
According to Daily Mail, Jenna named the baby after her grandfather, former president George H.W. Bush, who was nicknamed “pop” as a young boy. Bush got the nickname from his grandfather, and he continued to use it throughout his life.
Poppy joins older sister Mila, who is now two years-old. When Jenna revealed her pregnancy on the Today Show, she said her older daughter was very excited to become a big sister.
We are so happy for the entire Bush family, and we’re praying for the health of both Jenna and her new baby!
