At the Republican debate last Thursday, Megyn Kelly tried to save her struggling television show by going after Donald Trump in front of millions of people.

Unfortunately for her, this turned out to be a huge mistake.

The backlash against Kelly for her inexcusable behavior during the debate was swift. Thousands signed a petition demanding she be banned from ever hosting a debate again, and even her co-anchors at Fox started to turn on her. Things got worse for her when Trump himself fired back at her, and yesterday it was revealed that Kelly is taking offers from other networks.

The GOP establishment has already made it VERY clear that they want Trump out of the race. They proved this once again this week when Republican National Committee (RNC) chairman Reince Priebus spoke out to DEFEND Megyn Kelly, and to approve another anti-Trump moderator for the next debate.

According to The Gateway Pundit, Priebus appeared on Meet The Press a few days ago, and there he whined about how he feels Trump does not have the “temperament” to be president. He also gave his approval to Salem Communications’ Hugh Hewitt as c0-moderator for the next debate, despite the fact that Hewitt has been outspoken about his anti-Trump views.

“Hugh Hewitt has interviewed every major Republican candidate this cycle and demonstrated an ability to ask tough, fair and balanced questions that Republican voters care about,” RNC spokeswoman Allison Moore told Breitbart. “We expect his handling of this debate to be no different.”

During his interview, Priebus went on to defend Megyn Kelly and her fellow moderators, even though conservatives all over the country have turned their back on them.

“Yeah, I think the moderators were fair,” Priebus said of Kelly, Brett Baier, and Chris Wallace. “The candidates have availed themselves to the process. So no one forced candidates to come on stage and answer questions so when candidates availed themselves to the process and availed themselves to the press, they opened themselves up to the process. So you know what? It really doesn’t matter whether it’s fair or not.”
