It’s been almost two weeks since the first Republican debate, which Donald Trump won by a landslide, and now the GOP elite is trying to ensure that the business mogul never has the chance to participate in a debate again.

The GOP establishment HATES Donald Trump because they know that they will never be able to control him. The wealthy donors of the GOP would much rather have Jeb Bush in the White House, since he comes from a political dynasty with a long history of being controlled by the GOP.

According to Truth in Media, the GOP thinks they have found a loophole to ban Trump from the debates.

In the first question of the last debate, moderator Brett Baier asked the candidates, “Who is unwilling tonight to pledge your support to the eventual nominee of the Republican Party and pledge not to run an independent campaign against that person? Raise your hand now if you won’t make that pledge tonight.”

Trump was the only candidate to raise his hand, saying that he may run as an independent if he does not get the Republican nomination. The Republican National Committee (RNC) is now saying that they can ban Trump from the next debate if he continues to refuse to make that pledge.

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus has since directly requested all Republican candidates to make the pledge, and he’s said that those who refuse may not be invited to future Republican debates. They will also be restricted from accessing private data about Republican voters.

Trump has since clarified his statement about running as an independent, saying that he may end up making the pledge.

“It’s absolutely possible that at some point I would change that,” but, he added, such a change “is not imminent.”

This is a truly pathetic attempt by the GOP to take the wind out of Trump’s sails, but it isn’t going to work. Trump is currently polling at twice the numbers of his closest competitors, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. If the RNC tries to ban Trump from future debates, all they’ll do is push him to actually run as an independent.

If this happens, we’ll all be in big trouble.
