When Republicans in the House of Representatives first filed a lawsuit against Barack Obama, the president tried to laugh it off as a joke. He’s not laughing now, however, as insiders say the lawsuit has become a “real problem” for him.

According to The Blaze, a federal judge is expected to decide whether or not he will dismiss the lawsuit very soon, but thanks to an amended complaint and a recent Supreme Court ruling, the ball is said to be firmly in the Republicans’ court. Reports say the lawsuit is “turning into a real problem” for Obama.

The lawsuit alleges that Obama’s exceeded his authority with unilateral changes he made to the Affordable Care Act. Though Democrats oppose the suit, Republican politicians say it is necessary in order to keep the president in constitutional check.

“The power of the purse is the very thumping heart of the legislative function in our system of separation of powers,” said Jonathan Turley, the George Washington University professor who was hired to lead the lawsuit.

Unfortunately, most experts believe that this lawsuit will not result in the dissolution of Obamacare. However, it could drastically raise the cost of insurance premiums.

Though Obama will likely not be impeached because of this, we’re glad the lawsuit is making him squirm a little bit. It’s nice to see Obama scared!
